Project Manager

The Position

The Project Manager will report to the Director Business Development & Project Management and will work in a team of young, driven professionals in a GMP environment with international projects related to the innovative market of cell therapy and regenerative medicine. The Project Manager will provide an important contribution to advancing this exciting new area of drug development for a number of international clients. Together with colleagues in Manufacturing, Quality Control and Quality Assurance the Project Manager will be instrumental in the successful integration of new processes at PharmaCell and the coordination of process/product development related to patient-specific medicines. The Project Manager will also be the key contact person to the client. The Project Manager should have affinity with GMP guidelines and likes to work in a quality-oriented environment. An understanding of cell culture technologies, industry guidelines, and laboratory analytical procedures is preferred.

Tasks and results:

  • Delivering input for contract negotiations by creating project plans and or by providing feasibility of new projects, based on budget, timelines and Human Resources
  • Coordination of multiple projects, both in Technology Transfer phase as well as in GMP manufacturing
  • Developing, reporting and managing work packages for core teams to meet project timelines
  • Proactively find and supervise (solutions to) bottle necks, deviations, risks and changes which could lead to planning conflicts or cost changes
  • Assure adherence to client’s contract
  • Positive collaboration with internal departments participating in projects
  • Chair weekly project meetings and track key decisions and action items
  • Risk identification, gap analysis, mitigation and contingency planning
  • Report planning and deviations to Director Business Development & Project Management


  • Master or BS degree with experience in Project Management within a Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology setting, preferably in Cell Therapy
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leadership and coordination
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Word processing and database/spread sheet applications
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Project and/or project software
  • Strong organizational / commercial skills and can work independently
  • Strong communication skills (English) in an international and  multidisciplinary setting (oral and written)
  • Proven track record in the field of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) and Cell Therapy with knowledge of the current industry standards (GMP, ICH)
